Les carnets de l’action culturelle locale
Activités / Prix Les Arts et la Ville / Prix francophone du développement culturel
Arts and culture are an integral part of the sustainable development of communities. In fact, they are fundamental and a means of expressing identity, appeal, influence and social cohesion.
Within Canadian society, the cultural development of Francophones and Acadians not only contributes to enriching the distinctive and engaging character of local communities, but also acknowledges the Francophonie in North America.
This competition aims to recognize municipalities that support the cultural development of Francophones in their community.
In addition to the award, this competition helps publicly promote the commitment of municipalities toward the cultural development of Frenchspeaking communities.
Les Arts et la Ville will present the “Francophone award for local cultural development” to a municipality outside Quebec for a cultural project that distinguishes itself by its contribution to the development of a Frenchspeaking community.
You must fill out the application form available here. You must send in photos of your project (maximum of five). These photos will not be evaluated, but they will help the panel of judges select the winner and also be used for promotional purposes. Please pay special attention to the quality and choice of photos.
The award will be presented to the winning municipality on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at a Gala Celebration of the 25th Annual Symposium of Les Arts et la Ville, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The winning municipality will receive a honorary plaque.
Projects will be showcased throughout the symposium and permanently posted on the website of Les Arts et la Ville. The winner will also be publicized in a media campaign and to our members, partners and collaborators.
Applications must be sent in by February 17, 2012 either by e-mail (including digital attachment) at prix@arts-ville.org, or by regular mail (CD-ROM) at:
